How is pet food made?

There are different types of production in the fields of wet and dry food, chews and snacks.

Vet-Concept dry food is produced by an extrusion process. The ingredients are combined via air pressure channels, are fed onto a conveyor under high pressure, cooked and pressed into the desired shape by a mould. The cooking temperature is 75 - 130° C.

Vet-Concept wet food is produced in autoclave plants. The raw materials are mixed (partially frozen), filled into the cans and then sealed. The filled cans are channelled into the system and cooked at min. 130°C for about 20 minutes at 4.5 bar pressure.

Vet-Concept chews and treats have a variety of production methods. For example, a dough is mixed for natural baked goods and then baked in ovens. Meat treats and chews are manufactured using infrared grilling or air drying.
